"When it's hot and dry in the summer time, in good old Abilene. The bobcats down on Catclaw Creek, they carry a canteen. .. Oh, the Catclaw Creek she catches rain whenever the rain comes down. We only get two feet a year, but on that day we drown, son, on that day we drown."

Our New Logo - Taylor always takes the lead.

Catclaw Creek opened the 2006 Abilene ISD Convocation at ACU Moody Coliseum on August 8, 2006 before a crowd of over 3000 folks. We were joined by Arley Gipson (far left) and Reggie Wrinkle (2nd left). Thanks Arley and Reggie. The crowd especially liked our rendition of Abilene. Many folks came early to hear us. Lots of good comments. Thanks to David Polnick (Superintendent for AISD schools) for the invitation.

Tales from Catclaw Creek

Check out our section based on Bill's experiences growing up on Catclaw Creek. The stories might be slightly embellished --- Naaa. Bill would never embellish anything

CatclawCreek (THE BAND) is a loosely organized group of western, gospel, Americana, railroad, folk-music wannabees. The genesis of the group is fuzzy and the structure is fluid - but its core has always been a number of professional individuals that enjoy good-ol' down-home music.

Being good West Texans, the group convenes for rehearsals when they're dang good and ready. They enjoy performing whenever asked and whenever they want. Over the last few years, the Catclaw Creek boys have embarrassed themselves (and their families) many times. Most recently, they have performed at fund raising events, church, reunion and civic events, Hill Country Music in Fredericksberg, AISD Convocation 2006, West Texas Book and Music Festival, Frontier Texas (grand opening), the 2004 West Texas Fair and Rodeo, Abilene ArtWalk, Shep Texas Homecoming, Grape Creek Festival, Quilters Guild, The Homeplace Restaurant, Abilene Friends of the Library, Hardin Simmons University events, Hendrick Medical Center Events, Various Military Events, Mesquite Storyteller's Tellebration, Erinshire Folk Festival, Abilene Zoofest, Kiwanis Pancake Day, Kiwanis Fish Fry, Rath City Days and even a "stick-horse rodeo" in Paducah, Texas.
